AnamA the Prog / Symphonic Metal band continues to work hard to promote their newest EP "Tales of Doubt and Death", released in late November / 2020.

The band recently announced that they were looking for a new bass player and, after a period of auditions, AnamA is pleased to announce that Lucas Bernardes is now part of the band.

Lucas grew up in the city of Tatuí, in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil, he started playing as a self-taught person, until he joined the Conservatoire of Tatuí, the largest in all of Latin America. He started his studies of classical acoustic bass in 2012 and, just 1 year and a half later, he was invited to perform in Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring", a work famous in the symphonic repertoire for its complexity.

In 2016, Lucas started to dedicate himself exclusively to the electric bass, expressing his passion for Metal and joined the Power Metal band, "Enorion" recording his first album. In addition to joining AnamA, Lucas is also a bassist for the band Setfire and maintains his own channel on YouTube, with presentations from the different faces of Metal.

About his entry into AnamA, Lucas comments:

"My candidacy was actually kind of funny, because I saw their ad a long time after it was posted, so I sent an unpretentious message. I decided to apply because when I heard their material I was very surprised. Undoubtedly it is one of the best national bands that I heard, so I knew I should try.

Now, my expectation is to contribute as much as possible to performance, compositions and conquer a bigger space in the scene, not only Brazilian, why not worldwide? They have a lot of creativity and talent, and I'm happy to be able to be part of that."

Some of Lucas' main influences are Jaco Pastorius, Sérgio Frigério, Steve Harris, Victor Wooten, Steve DiGiorgio, Felipe Andreoli and Ricardinho Paraíso.

In 2021, AnamA will complete 10 years of existence and, for that, the preparations for this celebration have already started. Now, with the formation complete, the band aims at a possible tour, when the pandemic is over.
